It seems it's a full moon night in the New Mexico desert. These nine cats are enjoying the night air on an old adobe wall in Santa Fe. Their owners have gone to bed after encouraging their feline friends to go out for the evening. A wise barn owl and a momma raccoon with her baby looks on to the scene while a trio of desert bats "hang around." I call this painting, "Who's Your Daddy? See if you can figure out why. Let me give you a hint, the cat on the upper right is hiding because he doesn't want to pay child support!

Through my work I always hope to tell a story about my personal experiences as a Hispanic woman. I was born and raised in the beautiful state of New Mexico and my family has been in northern New Mexico for over 10 generations. My work comes from my memories of growing up in a large extended family and my favorite subjects to paint are the people and traditions of northern New Mexico.
