Artist's Description
This is a commission I did for Chris Beck the owner of The Chile Shop on Water Street just off the Historic Santa Fe Plaza. The shop has been a Santa Fe fixture for over 30 years and has many delightful chile inspired gifts inside. As always, building are no more than the people who are inside them. A visiting family is enjoying New Mexico folk art and chile ristras. A cowboy waits for his wife while she shops keeping company with his bulldog "Pinto." The lady to the right is happy with her Chile Shop purchase as her chihuahua "Chica" follows behind. Victoria de Almeida is an award-winning folk artists living in Santa Fe New Mexico. She was 2015 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta poster artist and Barnes and Noble chose her as their 2013 Hispanic Heritage Artist. De Almeida's work depicts the people and traditions of her Hispanic culture. www.VictoriaDeAlmeida.com

As a self-taught artist, I really fight looking at something when I'm painting or sketching. I love just allowing my work to evolve organically. My preliminary sketches are...
