Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

My grandpa Maunuel Almeida (1914-1982) got a chihuahua from my Aunt Mary Ann and he named her "Floofers". He loved that dog and would go on to get two more named "Cachita and Chaquita". There were 22 grandchildren in the family and we would visit Grandma and Grandpa Almeida in their little casita on 502 1/2 Camino Sin Nombre in Santa Fe, NM . We would run through the house chasing those little dogs. If you own chihuahuas you know they aren't the most easy going in temperament. They used to growl at us and most of us got snapped at more than once. Grandpa Almeida or "LoLo" loved those dogs. My Grandma Reynalda on the other hand hated them because they weren't house trained. So she'd follow them around the house laying down newspaper everywhere. Inevitably, they'd poop on the floor and grandma would call out in her sing-song voice, "Mawn-WEEEEEE-LLLLLLLLLLL (a long drawn-out Manuel), Floofers left a little present for yoooooouuuuu!" and my Grandpa Almeida would look all sheepish a...

About Victoria De Almeida

Victoria De Almeida

Through my work I always hope to tell a story about my personal experiences as a Hispanic woman. I was born and raised in the beautiful state of New Mexico and my family has been in northern New Mexico for over 10 generations. My work comes from my memories of growing up in a large extended family and my favorite subjects to paint are the people and traditions of northern New Mexico. I have always loved art and have wanted to become an artist for as long as I can remember. My primary medium is acrylic on canvas. I have also enjoyed using acrylic on wood as well. As a self-taught artist, I really fight looking at something when I'm painting or sketching. I love just allowing my work to evolve organically. My preliminary sketches are...
