Artist's Description
DescriptionI really enjoy painting cats. They have really beautiful eyes (which are always a trademark in my work) and a sense of wildness in their natures that I find enduring. Being a native New Mexican I wanted to paint a piece that showed cats enjoying the traditions and culture of my beautiful state! Purple cat is a NM cowboy, Green Cat is Native American selling his beautiful jewelry, Orange Cat is Fiesta Queen (Que viva!) Red Cat is enjoying a traditional New Mexican meal of a burrito smothered in red chile, pinto beans and a margarita, and Blue Cat is playing mariachi music!
I was born and raised in the beautiful state of New Mexico.

About Victoria De Almeida

I was born and raised in the beautiful state of New Mexico and my family has been in northern New Mexico for over 10 generations. I have always loved art and have wanted to become an artist for as long as I can remember. My primary medium is acrylic on canvas. I have also enjoyed using acrylic on wood as well. As a self-taught artist, I really fight looking at something when I'm painting or sketching. I love just allowing my work to evolve organically. My preliminary sketches are...
